South Australia produces almost half of Australia’s wine. Its geography varies enormously, creating a diverse range of sites and microclimates which yield a myriad of grapes and wine styles.While the hot, irrigated Riverland region produces grapes for Australia’s bag-in-box wines, South Australia harbours cooler sites in the hills behind Adelaide and closer to the ocean. These have potential for finer wines, such as Penfold’s legendary Grange, arguably Australia’s most famous wine. Sub-regions with iconic styles include the Adelaide Hills, whose cool-climate white wines recall old-world classic styles. Try The Lane range of wines, new to Corney & Barrow.
