Domaine Figeat is one of the oldest wine estates in Pouilly-sur-Loire, the Loire Valley wine village famous for the elegant, smoky dry white wines of Pouilly-Fumé. Sixth generation André Figeat, now at the helm, began his wine career as a toddler, when he fell into a vat of freshly-pressed grape juice. Despite a timely rescue, the Pouilly-Fumé bug had kicked in and André’s winemaking destiny was set. Domaine Figeat is one of Pouilly-Fumé’s most acclaimed producers with vineyards rich in chalk and flint, held to be key to Pouilly-Fumé’s distinctive style. While the vineyards are farmed traditionally, according to long-standing organic principles, Domaine Figeat’s spanking new winery points to a modern approach, at one with André Figeat’s pursuit of quality; this focus shines through in the perfect poise of the Domaine's outstanding Pouilly-Fumé wines.
