Psi 2009 a "poised and elegant wine"
Achaval-Ferrer
"I’ve been an admirer of the wines produced by Achaval Ferrer ever since I visited their winery in Mendoza three years ago. Their Finca Mirador 2007, while arguably overpriced, is also one of the most elegant, complex wines being produced in Argentina at the moment. 17.5/20 for the wine itself, 13.5/20 for value for money."
Psi 2009
"Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck is most closely associated with the iconic Pingus, from Ribera del Duero. His 2009 Psi also made in the same DO, offers a more affordable take on the region. The grapes are grown by members of one of the local co-operatives, but the wine is made under Sisseck’s guidance. The result is a poised, elegant wine with far less extraction and oak than is typical for a Ribera del Duero. There’s good concentration of dark, slightly floral, smoky fruit, which all lingers nicely on the finish. Sophisticated and smart, and a definite improvement on the first release of this wine."

Joh. Jos. Prüm Riesling Voted Tim Atkin's Wine of the Week
Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett Joh Jos Prum 2009
"My cellar is full of wines from this legendary producer, so I can confirm that they age beautifully in bottle. This one is no exception. It's impressive now, but will be even better in a year or two. Delicate, restrained, medium sweet, yet balanced by palate-tingling acidity, this is the sort of thing that makes Riesling lovers shudder with pleasure."

Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs 2002 Recommended in the Observer
Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs 2002
"Champagne Delamotte is part of the same company behind the famed (and prohibitively expensive) Salon, and it shows. This 100% chardonnay is simply glorious: rich but beautifully balanced by its nervy acidity and silk-textured fizz."

Saint-Péray Tardieu-Laurent Well Reviewed by Wine Anorak
Saint-Peray Tardieu-Laurent 2009
"Rich, ripe, toasty, peachy nose. The palate is broad and fine with fat flavours of pear, peach, vanilla and spice. A rich, broad, complex oaked white of some appeal. Fine." 90/100

Cornas Coteaux Tardieu-Laurent 2008 awarded 93/100
Cornas Coteaux Tardieu-Laurent 2008
"Vibrant fresh black cherry and blackberry fruit here with some sweetness but also lovely savoury, peppery notes. Very fresh with delicious pepperiness and grippy tannins. It’s a wine that manages to combine real northern Rhone character with elegance and polish. A lovely wine: fresh, peppery, grippy, lively." 93/100
