In May 2003 Corney & Barrow Wine Merchants & Wine Bars came under one roof and moved to No 1 Thomas More Street. The building is Grade II listed and was originally the old HM Customs Head Office built in 1805.
The building has been extensively modernised, with a vastly improved reception area, dining rooms, kitchen and purpose-built tasting room.
Close to the Tower of London, No 1 Thomas More Street allows Corney & Barrow to continue to expand into the future.

alison.buchanan@corneyandbarrow.com
Alison Buchanan supplemented her undergraduate income as a chef and initially studied wine to complement her love of cooking. Her interest in wine had originally been kindled in Burgundy when her father used to sneak her into tastings when she was slightly below the age limit, insisting that she was soixante ans! Her wine career began at the sharp end, managing a store (heaving boxes about) for one of the multiples. She then joined Scotland's oldest wine merchants, Whighams of Ayr, in 1989. When Corney & Barrow bought Whighams in 1994, Alison continued in Scotland before moving to London as associate director of buying in 1998. Passionate about wine, Alison recognizes the need to see it in a wider business context. To this end she studied for an MBA, which she completed in 2005.
