Psi Peter Sisseck 2009

Spain  >  Ribera Del Duero

This is a wine with energy and personality, a purity of expression and so much charm.

This is a beautiful, lustrous, plum-cherry in colour, with a bright fuschia rim, enticing from the outset. The nose unusually evokes fresh grape must allied to cherries, plums and fresh blueberry all complemented by pronounced mineral notes. The palate is supple and accessible, plump and ripe, supported by rounded tannins which, with the minerality, give tremendous focus and direction.

Tempranillo, 2009, Dry, Full bodied, 13.5%, Cork

Press Reviews

"This is an understated wine by Spanish standards.... Stylish stuff. Fresh raspberry and plum fruit with mineral undertones, hints of gravel and tar, and really well integrated oak that doesnt stick out at all. Theres good freshness and a lovely savoury dimension to the fruit. I think this will age beautifully. 92/100"

Jamie Goode, Wine Anorak (February 2012)

"Ribera del Duero, north of Madrid and with higher-altitude vineyards, sunny days and cooler nights, is home to some of Spains best reds. Quality in recent years has been mixed, but Peter Sissecks new Psi, from superior tempranillo vines and with minimal oak ageing, is a cracker. Enjoy this crimson-purple winter red with its fine, juicy, earthy, plummy fruit now with big food like steak and kidney pie. Or put it away for a few years to allow those more savoury, spicy flavours to develop."

Jane Macquitty, The Times (November 2011)
