Both Bel-Air La Royere and Les Ricards are under the same ownership but stylistically they are very different.
Bel-Air La Royere is comprised of 5 hectares of vines with an average age of 35 years, planted on clay-limestone. A blend of 60% Merlot, 40% Malbec, this makes for an intensely-coloured, richly-textured wine, a very fine ambassador for the appellation. The nose combines Creme de Cerise, brooding depth and dark earthy notes - inviting. Rounded and opulent, rich plump fruit, the palate is supple, vanilla-infused and appetising, ripe tannins disguised by the sheer ripeness - all complemented by a refreshing acidity - excellent value.
