Domaine de Chevalier Rouge 2010

France  >  Bordeaux  >  Pessac-Leognan

This estate has been on the up for many years, they are just starting to hit the heights that their brilliant plot in Pessac-Leognan has the potential to reach.

The estate is owned by Olivier Bernard and employing the esteemed Stephane Derenoncourt as consultant winemaker. Deep plum-cherry with a firm rim, this has a very intensely-fruited, sweet nose with up-front, concentrated fruit allied to savoury intrigue and refreshing  mineral precision. The palate shows some restraint, making for a very lively, attractive translation of the vintage, with ripe berry fruit supported by silky, ripe tannins. This is a sophisticated, elegant Chevalier, poised and very fine, finishing long.
