Tertre Rôteboeuf Grand Cru occupies an idyllic amphitheatre of clay-limestone slopes, producing intense, richly textured very pure St Emilion.
At Tertre Rôteboeuf, in St Emilion, François Mitjavile sees himself as a translator of terroir rather than an omnipotent winemaker. The clay-limestone soils here allied to good southern exposure make for controlled opulence and rich complexity. The 2006 is resplendent, with ripe, dark, fruit and silk-textured tannins.
