Chateau Certan Giraud was acquired by Christian Moueix in 1998 and its most favoured parcel separated off to create Hosanna, on the fast track now to becoming one of the commune's very greatest wines. Frequently refered to as the Cheval Blanc of Pomerol, it possesses a unique style both perfumed and profound. So it is in 2006, with a very dense ruby shot colour and, at this stage, a subdued, latent, black fruited power on the nose. The palate however is perfectly seductive, richly fl avoured, effortlessly extracted with a sweetly concentrated perfectly linear fi nish. Lovely wine indeed.
