Delamotte Blanc de Blancs NV

France > Champagne > Non Vintage

Elegance and poise are the watchwords for Delamotte's exceptional Blanc de Blancs Champagne from this old-established house.

Made from the grapes of top Grand Cru vineyards, this refined non-vintage Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) from Champagne Delamotte more than hints at the family pedigree - Delamotte is the sister house of Champagne Salon, perhaps the world's rarest Champagne. Our buyer's favourite!!

Fantastic! Hint of lemon, toastiness and brioche and a delighful stream of tiny bubbles to top off a wonderful wine.

Press Reviews

"From the sister house of Salon, a very superior blanc de blancs. Sophisticated."

Victoria Moore, Daily Telegraph (November 2010)

"Splendid, little known and very special - delicately herby, hugely uplifting".

Bob Tyrer, Sunday Times (October 2010)

The Keeper: Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne
"Delamotte was our wedding wine, so I have a soft spot for this quality-minded champagne house. Good, balances, blanc de blancs champagne, a white wine made only from white grapes, in this case chardonnay, is hard to find. Delamotte's sings with delicious fragrant, leafy, lemony fruit that makes a great summer aperitif now, but given a few years will fatten up and develop all sorts of rich, nutty, lemony biscuit flavour."

Jane MacQuitty, Saturday Times (June 2010)

"We've had some good news to celebrate this week, what with the new (and littlest) addition to the Winchester Wine School fraternity. We wanted to wet the baby's head with something suitably fizzy and delicious and we turned to a bottle of Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs NV.
This particular bottle had been sent in celebration of Delamotte's 250th anniversary (making it the sixth oldest champagne house, apparently) by the kind people at Corney & Barrow, who sell it at 32.99 per bottle. Chardonnay is a focus at this sister house to Salon, and it shows.
We may have been on something of a high anyway, but this soft, appley, yeasty fizz was delicious, with lovely focused mineral flavours. It's well rounded and user-friendly but with an elegant, deft touch that's very inviting and moreish. Not the most complex or ambitious fizz but a lovely one nonetheless. We rated it at 7-7.5/10. As for the baby, he certainly didn't complain when we dabbed some on his forehead. If ever there was a sign of approval. Enjoy it as a delightful aperitif, to celebrate special occasions or as a foil for seafood nibbles like king prawn, creme fraiche and sweet chilli blinis."

Susie Barrie MW and Peter Richards (July 2010)

"Fresh floral biscuity aromas lead to an-all chardonnay fizz of distinction, a delicate toastiness and intense rich flavour on a cushion of elegant creamy bubbles."

Anthony Rose, The Independent (November 2009)
