A rich, concentrated, darkly-fruited nose with sweet cherries and spice. The palate is generous, intense and focussed throughout, opulent but never heavy. Perfumed and peppery finish.
From a tiny 1.6 hectare vineyard overlooking the Douro. Cristiano and his fellow winemaker and business partner, Sandra Tavares, selected grapes from the oldest part of the vineyard, a field selection of around 30 indigenous varieties. The vines, with an average age well over 50 years old, produce intense, concentrated wines of great complexity. Darkly-fruited with floral aromatics and a perfumed peppery finish.
