We are now in the midst of the Burgundy season as the much-vaunted Burgundy 2010 vintage has been released this month. 2009 was what the French call a millésime très médiatique (very high profile), due to near perfect climatic conditions across the growing season and through to harvest. 2010, as we will see, was much more challenging. There are however increasingly vocal dissenters regarding 2009, citing that it is atypical and rather exotic. For those who hold that view, 2010 marks a return to more usual Burgundian freshness and purity. Below is the collection of wines which we have selected on the basis of their quality. They come from producers with whom we have enjoyed working for many years; very special, long-term relationships.
