A wine combining elegance and finesse, in the characteristic savoury style of the Cascina Francia vineyard. The 2012 is a very refined embodiment of this most complex of Barberas. Savoury spice and a structured, intense nose of ripe blackberries. Stony minerality on the palate, with a lean, saline character, black pepper and juicy cassis, all framed by gentle, finely extracted tannins and lifted by a seam of fresh acidity. Precise and defined on the finish. A mezzo to Cerretta�s soprano
