The wines of Giulia Negri are relative newcomers, though Giulia comes from a family steeped in local winemaking history - 150 years of experience producing top Barolo and Barbera. Daughter of the house, Giulia Negri, inspired by small artisan producers, not least her beloved Burgundy, makes her own rules, to a degree, whilst respecting tradition. Barolo La Tartufaia represents the best production of two crus, Serradenari (the highest point in Barolo) and the Brunate vineyard. The former is a later ripening site due to fresh winds and high altitude, making for intense minerality and considerable finesse. The grapes of Brunate mature earlier and contribute underlying power as well as diverse mineral complexity.
