The estate has a long tradition, dating back to 1636. Sofia Thanisch, currently at the helm represents the eleventh generation of this remarkable family. She is the fourth woman overseeing the estate. The 100% Riesling vineyards are ungrafted, the wines fermented traditionally in stainless steel, with indigenous yeasts, all to produce an enticing marriage of very pure fruit and slate minerality.
