The estate has a long tradition, dating back to 1636. Sofia Thanisch, currently at the helm represents the eleventh generation of this remarkable family. She is the fourth woman overseeing the estate. The 100% Riesling vineyards are ungrafted, the wines fermented traditionally in stainless steel, with indigenous yeasts, all to produce an enticing marriage of very pure fruit and slate minerality. The Doctor vineyard is celebrated all over the world
