The celebrated Doctor vineyard owes its celebrity to 14th-century Archbishop Boemund II who, legend has it, was miraculously cured from illness by a the vineyard’s wine. In gratitude, he conferred the name Doctor on the vineyard. The vines are ungrafted . This 2016 has such a lot of character, aromatics persisting through to the palate, with a medley of orchard fruit, barley sugar and floral honey, silk-textured, elegant and layered through a protracted, poised, mineral-rich finish – a versatile complement to food, lighter meats and cheeses.
