Bourgogne Pinot Noir Vieilles Vignes Domaine Pierre Labet 2016

This is a very pretty colour, a shimmering bright ruby. Given the frost issue, there is very little Côte de Beaune here, the grapes largely having been sourced from Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits Saint-Georges, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée. Cherries and berries come through on the nose, rich, ripe and intense. The palate is superbly concentrated, silk-textured with attractive strength and balance through to a protracted poised finish – impressive.

"The wines sold under the Domaine Pierre Labet name are vinified at Château de La Tour and enjoy the same fastidious attention to detail as those from Clos de Vougeot and the vineyards are also organically farmed."
