Breaky Bottom Cuvee Koizumi Yakumo Brut Traditional Method 2010
"Exquisitely fine, linear and pure, this unique wine stands alone. Beautifully wrought from pristine old vine Seyval Blanc and extensive ageing, its scintillating flavours combine lemon tart, brioche and almond. Named in honour of Peter’s great-great-uncle, Japan’s National Treasure Koizumi Yakumo."

“Very light but varietally 'hedgerow' nose that evolved into something more autolytic.impressive depth and grip on the palate. Serious sparkling wine. Not given away but (a) it has benefited from many years' ageing and (b) it's a useful and distinctive contribution to the range of English wines available. Very long – in fact this wine really opens up on the finish. Very clean and refreshing. Bone-dry finish. Thoroughly satisfying.”

“England expects? England delivers. Peter Hall, the living legend, makes this superb lazer festival of defined and delicious citrus splendour. Laced with layers, this is utterly splendid Seyval Blanc and shows how incredibly satisfying English wine can be after a few years in bottle. I’ve bought several cases and will drink it as well as lay some down - if I can resist its charms! So good it makes me happy even thinking about it. Chill, pop and smile.

Corney & Barrow Sparkling Blanc de Blancs Methode Traditionnelle NV
It is thought that the Romans first introduced vines to England, however due to a combination of poor climate and the strong trading links with France and Italy (leading to a ready supply of wine), wine-making never really took off. Fast forward a few centuries and wine making is now a burgeoning industry because of improved wine making techniques and climate change.
