Breaky Bottom’s astonishing sparkling wines are made from just 2.3 hectares of vineyards, nestled in a hidden valley in the South Downs. Cuvée Reynolds Stone is a vintage classic – elegant and fine with its mayblossom scent and tarte au citron flavours. It is named in homage to the famous English engraver who created Breaky Bottom’s iconic logo in the 1970s.

“It has a superb bouquet of lively citrus fruit, crushed stone, white and yellow flowers and a subtle walnut note in the background, all very focused and sophisticated. The palate is taut on the entry, steely and citrus-fresh, becoming more malic toward the Granny-Smith-apple-driven finish. A nimble, energetic and complex wine that will appeal to those who like a more Zen-like sparkler.”

It is thought that the Romans first introduced vines to England, however due to a combination of poor climate and the strong trading links with France and Italy (leading to a ready supply of wine), wine-making never really took off. Fast forward a few centuries and wine making is now a burgeoning industry because of improved wine making techniques and climate change.
