Corney and Barrow Wine Broking

Broking & Fine Wine

C&B was the first UK wine merchant to establish a broking service in 1992. We wanted to redefine how broking was perceived in the marketplace, with particular regard to sourcing and provenance.

It began, as with all good things, as a service to customers, growing from nothing into a multi-million pound business and winning two Queen's Awards for Export. Our broking team are now an integral part of our fine wine team.

Buying

We guarantee the condition of wines both bought from us and also stored with us, and opened within our recommended drinking dates.

In addition to advertising wines for sale, our broking and sales teams actively place wines with buyers.  With offices in England, Scotland, Hong Kong and Singapore, spanning private customers, restaurants and select wine retailers, we have a wide reach helping us to sell your wine promptly.

When you buy from C&B you're buying wines direct from the world's greatest estates. Buying from us gives assurance that the wine has been stored in optimum conditions. We've been in the business of provenance for over 200 years and while cellaring has always been important, with today's high prices, the condition of fine wine is more vital than ever.

Selling

Upon agreeing a “Purchase Price”, we can help you sell your wine, discreetly and effectively. We will advise you as though the wine were our own.  Following the purchase of your wine, we can either pay you by bank transfer or credit your C&B account with the sale proceeds.

For Broking Terms of Trade please click here, to be viewed in line with our full terms and conditions here.

We will prepare a line by line valuation of your wines in advance of broking, based on current market prices.  Once wines are listed, we will continue to monitor the market and if offer prices need revising, up or down, we will advise you.

Our online broking list links to websites such as Wine-Searcher, ensuring maximum visibility for your offered wines.

Corney and Barrow Wine Broking

Storing/Cellaring

Broking wines are all physically stored with us, ensuring immediate availability for buyers.  To facilitate this, we offer free collections of wines destined for broking for consignments valued over £1,000, from private cellars.  Wines listed for sale are stored with us free of charge.

Whilst your wine is being brokered with us, it will be temperature and humidity controlled, and utterly secure.  Naturally your wine is your wine, physically and legally ring fenced from our stock.  It is also insured to full replacement value.

For full T&Cs related to storing your wine, click here. For questions relating to cellaring and storage charges, click here.
