Reticent dark berries on the nose, leading into a palate of rigorous, chiselled tannins, which are pleasantly fruit-coated, with just enough pliancy of fruit. Finishes salty and clipped. An intense, powerful, shapely Cos – taut rather than curvaceous, but harnessing well the stark beauty of St Estephe.
