Chateau de Lamarque 2013

Chateau de Lamarque 2013

Deep plum-ruby in colour, this is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. The nose presents a blend of wild blackberry, cassis and cherry with slightly smoky notes and a spiced, savoury edge. Earthy minerals provide focus and depth - an intriguing sous-bois, brooding quality. As ever Lamarque at this stage promises to be the perfect foil to good food. The palate is well-balanced , with red and black fruit, complemented by well-integrated tannins. - a fine translation of the vintage.

"Huge investment, allied to natural terroir, results in excellent value and really high quality here - a fine Haut-Médoc."
