Château de Lamarque is situated on the Left Bank of the Gironde, to the north of Margaux, planted on Haut-Médoc alluvial soils of clay and gravel, deep and well drained. Owners Pierre-Gilles and Marie-Hélène Gromand d’Evry, have elected to make the best wine possible here and have done their utmost, both in financial terms and the sheer time they have spent in achieving this goal. We admire their tenacity greatly as they endlessly strive to surpass the de Lamarque’s anticipated potential. The wines of Château de Lamarque present a complex, fine and classical interpretation of the Haut-Médoc’s terroir.
"Château de Lamarque rather flies the flag for Haut-Médoc classicism in all vintages and, faced with a ripe sunny year like 2015, read controlled classicism. There are ripe berry fruits on the nose and palate, cassis and plum melded with herbs - bay - and tobacco - no hard edges. Château de Lamarque flies the flag of a close knit family and, unsurprisingly, is at its best enjoyed with family and friends over good food."
