Le Clarence de Haut-Brion 2022

Le Clarence de Haut-Brion 2022

<p>49% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc. More overtly powerful on the nose than La Mission and darker-berried, with bitter chocolate and deep earthy, gravelly mineral notes. The palate is immense and statuesque, yet finely grained, with rounded, grippy tannins. A very long-term Haut Brion, which seems to combine its relentless power with winning upfront charm. The yield across the estate was 44hl/ha. Picked 6th September to 2nd October. </p>

"62% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14.5% Cabernet Franc, 1.5% Petit Verdot. Richer dark berry fruit aromas compared to La Chapelle de la Mission. The palate is cool, dark and ripe, very well poised, with real personality. Doesn’t shy away from the heat of the season, but captures it elegantly. Fine chalky tannins. 14.4% abv. C&B Score: 18 Drinking dates: 2027-39"
