Château Haut-Brion 2018

Château Haut-Brion 2018

49% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc. More overtly powerful on the nose than La Mission and darker-berried, with bitter chocolate and deep earthy, gravelly mineral notes. The palate is immense and statuesque, yet finely grained, with rounded, grippy tannins. A very long-term Haut Brion, which seems to combine its relentless power with winning upfront charm. The yield across the estate was 44hl/ha. Picked 6th September to 2nd October.
