Chateau L'Avocat 2011

1/09/15: Wine of the week tasting note by our Managing Director, Adam Brett-Smith: * “This is livin', this is style, this is elegance by the mile Oh the posh posh traveling life, the traveling life for me First cabin and captain's table regal company Whenever I'm bored I travel abroad but ever so properly Port out, starboard home, posh with a capital P-O-S-H, posh” Amazing the things you think about over a good glass of Claret and with a label alarmingly similar to Class Growth Chateau Gruaud Larose this is quite posh. Cheap too, sorry inexpensive. Not a great year but a really nice wine that will put Bordeaux bashers back in their box. Deep coloured, leafy black fruit smell, crunchy plump fruit on the palate, clean and with decent length. It’s being hoovered up at home. Warmly suggest you do the same. *Grandpa Potts – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

"Red Graves, a favoured appellation in the UK is classically translated here with full fruit allied to mineral backbone."
