Château Lagrange, Pomerol, was bought by Etablissements Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953 from the then owner of Château Trotanoy. It is planted partly on gravel, partly on clay, including the celebrated blue clay, soils so favoured by merlot vines, allowing them to achieve exemplary expression. Rigorous discipline in the vineyard, fundamental to this property’ was augmented when additional plots were added in 2012.Supple, round, generous and fruit-driven, Château Lagrange is a delightful expression of the lighter style of Pomerol wines, approachable in its youth.
"Lagrange is happily sited between Château La Grave and La Fleur-Pétrus. The 2013 vintage has a bright, black fruited, inky nose, with a palate that firms up well. This wine has really prominent chunky, but lithe, fruit, a chewy density and length with excellent balance."
