Château Pichon Baron 2018

Château Pichon Baron 2018

78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot. Blackcurrant, graphite and cigar box on the nose, all very classical. The palate has a high level of tannins, which are polished and intricate, exerting a grip from the mid-palate, which builds towards the long finish, on which fine blackberry and violet perfume lingers. Very impressive. The yield was 35hl/ha, only slightly below 2017’s level. 80% new oak. The grand vin represents 50% of production.
