71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. Graphite, pencil shavings and deep blackcurrant fruit, with beautifully fine tannins and a charge of earthy, ferrous minerality. Phenomenally good – as classical as it gets and supremely elegant, up there with the best this vintage.

"54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc. The second wine of Pichon Lalande, which was renamed from the 2017 vintage. Bitter cherries, almost cocktailed, with a core of very ripe dark berry fruit, framed by powerful, grippy, fine tannins. This is a wine intended for the long term.
