A deep, purple-ruby, it offers a tantalising combination of heady, scented red and black berries complemented by more savoury elements, tobacco and fennel herb. The palate takes up the gauntlet, veering towards the more adroit, fresh elements of the nose, super-concentrated and layered, animated and focussed. Complex, this is well-supported by refined acidity and fine-grained tannins - bravo Charles and Guillaume on a staggeringly good first vintage.
