The Grenache, which is from 80-100-year-old vines, is evident in a spicy, tender raspberry-fruited nose. The palate is saturated with melded, supple red berry fruit, depicted by quite grippy, fine tannins. Lovely wine, the best Chateauneuf Vieilles Vignes I have tasted here. Or as Bastien put it, “The last vintage of this quality we had in the cellar was 2016.”
