Frédéric Lafarge and his wife Chantal, Of Domaine Michel Lafarge, centred in Volnay decided, in 2014, to look further afield, creating a new Domaine in nearby Beaujolais, Domaine Lafarge Vial. They managed to secure several parcels of vines within Fleurie and this tiny 0.35 hectare plot in Chiroubles, with vines with an average age of 45 years. Very bright and fresh, red cherry and a little morello, bursting with life and energy. The tannins are certainly there, and have a fine chalky aspect, but the fruit is a match for them.
