Sweetly red-fruited on the nose -strawberry, raspberry and cranberry - with dark peppery spices and dried tea leaves. On the palate, an additional layer of sucrosity makes for a substantial wine, with very firm, yet lusciously fruit-coated tannins. There is a beautiful cushioning here, softening what could otherwise be rather foreboding.
"The domaine considers 70 years old to be the threshold for ‘old vines’, a definition with which it is hard to argue."
