This 1.28-hectare parcel lies at the heart of the large clay-based Clos de Vougeot vineyard, just below the holding of Château de la Tour. Spicy dark cherry, with crushed rock minerality on the nose. The palate is upbeat and fresh on the attack, although quickly revealing an impressively powerful core – a majestic wine, for the very long term. A third whole cluster vinification was used in 2018 to soften out those tannins, with ageing in 60% new oak.
