An inviting, dark nose of exotic and pretty tea leaf spices. The palate is sappy and pure, focussed and elegant, the fine tannins supporting driving energy. This wine is from a steeply sloping plot of nearly half a hectare, on the exposed eastern side of the hill of Corton, at the same level as Corton Clos du Roi and above Corton-Bressandes. The vines were planted in 1963 and are on particularly shallow soil. This is one row away from Lalou Bize’s Corton! 30% whole bunch fermentation.
