"Gilles Jourdan established his eponymous domaine in 1998, having looked after the family holdings since 1970, whilst making wine at Bichot in Beaune.
The domaine’s cellar is located in the quiet village of Corgoloin, on the eastern side of the Route Nationale. There are just five hectares and the chai is tiny, a central garage-like space crammed with bottling equipment, a small tasting table, a bottle cellar to one side and a barrel cellar to the other"
"The ‘family secret’ here is that this is made in the same style as that of Gilles Jourdan’s father, using 18% new oak and 20% whole bunches. In 2017, it comes from just one of the three sites from which it is usually made. Strawberries and blackberries, with excellent ripeness. This is dense and grippy – a serious wine, with a lovely balancing acidity. "
