In 2000, a joint venture between two families whose histories span, collectively, some 400 years, resulted in the establishment of Hyde de Villaine. Already related by marriage, the partnership was forged between Larry Hyde (Hyde Vineyard) and Aubert de Villaine (Director of Domaine de La Romanée Conti and Co-owner of Domaine A&P de Villaine in Bouzeron). The De la Guerra Chardonnay is produced from younger Chardonnay vines. This is aged in 10% new French oak barrels and stainless steel vats for up to seven months.
