54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc. The second wine of Pichon Lalande, which was renamed from the 2017 vintage. Bitter cherries, almost cocktailed, with a core of very ripe dark berry fruit, framed by powerful, grippy, fine tannins. This is a wine intended for the long term.

From the Leoville Poyferre stable. 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. Crunchy raspberry fruit, very immediate and with bright, almost tensile acidity. High levels of firm tannins which have been very finely extracted. Patience needed here but lots of dense fruit for future ageing.
