The Merlot grape and gravel-over-clay soils are the two hallmarks of this vineyard. A cedary, minty nose of sweet blackberry and raspberry opens onto a textured palate of succulent dark fruit, framed by particularly fine, chalky tannins and lifted by fresh acids. As always, this bears a striking resemblance to the grand vin. It deserves some cellar time to allow the impressive structure to knit further.
