C&B and your data: Don’t Panic
"Don't Panic. It's the first helpful or intelligible thing anybody's said to me all day.”
Arthur Dent, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
The below is a summary, in our best legalese, of how we handle your data, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and in its now UK guise, the GDPR.
We collect certain information about you when you interact with C&B. (Not in a clandestine sort of way, you understand, but in the normal run of business…) This can include your name, date of birth, contact details and any identification documents you provide when, for example, you open an account with us.
We do this to enable us to run our business the way you would expect it to be run – sending you wine offers (with your consent of course!) and making sure your wines are stored and delivered correctly.
We may disclose your personal data to third parties who work with C&B ensuring we can provide you the services you have requested, such as couriers, external warehouses and IT companies who support our business systems.
You have a raft of rights under GDPR which include the right to request access to your personal data or to tell us you no longer want to receive marketing offers. These are also set out below. You can also lodge a complaint about how your personal data has been used.
That, in a nutshell, is it. As Douglas Adams said, Don’t Panic.
