Vieilles vignes here means well over 60 years of age. The domaine’s Gevrey village is made from three lieux-dits, which are co-vinified: La Justice (northeast), Les Crais (southeast) and La Jouise (southwest, just below Mazy-Chambertin), totaling just 0.6 hectares. Dark minerally spices with pure, rich, dark berry fruit. François tasted this with a soft “wow — almost ready to be bottled.” Elegant and with the playful aromatic stamp of the domaine. 35% new oak, with two-thirds whole-bunch fermentation.
