This Erste Lage vineyard consists of steep terraces in the Haardt hills between Gimmeldingen and Königsbach. The site is protected from cold winds by a small hollow in the hillside.
"The nose is immediately more powerful and expressive – bright raspberry and a latent forcefulness which brings to mind the more structured villages of the Côte de Nuits. The palate is similarly strident, with fine tannins making their presence felt, imposing impressive definition and rigour on the finish.
