Cotes-du-Rhone Guy Louis Tardieu-Laurent 2010

Cotes-du-Rhone Guy Louis Tardieu-Laurent 2010

A great deal of care goes into this wine as it is names in honour of Michel's father and his uncle. Inky plum purple in colour, with a tight, firm, bright pink, this has a heartening, warmly spiced, richly fruited nose. The palate reveals a true vin gourmand a sweet and savoury powerhouse set off with a heady dash of pepper with layers of mocha cream. Rounded and opulent, this is essentially declassified Rasteau, a big wine, aged in one and two year old barrels for added complexity - supremely good value for this level of achievement. Estimated arrival UK : January 2013

"From far older (35-50 years) vines than you expect from a 'humble' Cotes du Rhone."
