Intense plum-ruby, this presents a complex nose, bright, fresh, primary fruit coulis and cooked fruit conserve allied to darker, savoury nuances, leather, spice and even quite developed notes with hints of truffle. The palate is powerful, rich and dense, echoing the aromatics offered on the palate set within a firmly structured frame. This will do well during élevage, with generous oak becoming increasingly integrated. A well-handled translation of the vintage which retains a lovely fresh focus throughout - very fine balance.
"Louis Mitjavile celebrates his fifth vintage of L'Aurage with this generous dark fruited claret. A wonderfully fresh combination of wild berries and spiced cherry compote, perfect Christmas drinking."
