Pagodes de Cos is the second wine of Cos d'Estournel, the vineyard supremely situated on a south-facing gravel ridge on the border with Pauillac, just to the north of Château Lafite.
"The blend in 2016 is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46.5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 0.5% Cabernet Franc. It has had 30% new oak. The nose offers cool, dark berries and cassis, with a little lift of violet perfume. This is more accessible than the grand vin, with fruit sweetness on the attack, a nice juiciness on the palate and low level yet present, fine tannins. The magnum adds even more gravitas to a seriously noble wine"
