Marsannay Quartier Domaine Philippe Roty 2010

Marsannay Quartier Domaine Philippe Roty 2010

Plum-ruby, this has a lovely colour, and an equally impressive nose - a melange of kirsch-soaked cherry, vanilla cream, mocha and spongecake - in short - bizarrely reminiscent of Black Forest Gâteau - very attractive. The palate is similarly evocative, sweet and ripe, layered and generous yet fresh, now with hints of vibrant red fruit. All supported by rounded tannins and focused mineral precision

"Philippe is a firm believer in releasing his wines only when they're in bottle and as such wines like this Marsannay are delivering complexity and approachablility already"
