Tête de Murger is another blend of two sites, vinified separately: Les Murgers de Monthélie (complex, varied soils) and Les Casse-Têtes (literally “broken heads” [of the stones] — a rocky, limestone-rich site). Bright golden colour. A fleshier nose of ripe peach and apricot fruit, with lime zest. The palate is generous and pliant, the expansive stone fruit sustained by fresh acidity. According to Marion Javillier, this always tightens up with age.
