Viña Nahuel

Chak is our new indie Cab from gem grower Viña Nahuel. Its name means ‘together’ in Chile’s native language, as it is a fusion of Bordeaux elegance and Chilean spice. Made from 80-year-old ungrafted vines, in the heart of the Colchagua Valley, this is a rich wine with notes of blueberries and a touch of smoke and herbs, fine tannins and a lasting finish.

About

After a long search for the perfect spot to build his dream winery, former Swiss banker Daniel Wiederkehr had the opportunity of buying 6 hectares of land at the heart of the Colchagua Valley in 2010. With innate enthusiasm for nature and wines, he trained as a viticulturist and oenologist in Switzerland before moving to Chile. About 200 km south of Santiago de Chile, between Andes and the Pacific Ocean, Daniel farms his magnificent ungrafted old vines following the phases of the moon and respecting organic practices. Viña Nahuel, his boutique winery named after the Andean Puma, has a low intervention approach to produce unique wines such as Chak. Carefully crafted and pure, it combines the best of two worlds – European backbone with a Chilean twist.
