This estate of 20 hectares dates back to 1798. The recent history is one of grandfather, father and daughter. Steffen (father) is now joined by Sophie, his daughter, post her studies at Geisenheim and experience working in wineries around the world. The vineyards are worked in harmony with nature – no herbicides, insecticides or synthetic fungicides. The estate has been certified biodynamic since 2002 – and the wines are extraordinarily eloquent translations of their particular terroir
Green citrus and cantaloupe melon on the nose, this promises refreshment from the outset. The citrus-driven palate manages to be dry and precise with a well-pitched level of acidity, fresh lemon, rosehips and kumquat to the fore. You could happily drink this on its own as an aperitif, aided by the refreshingly low 11.5% abv. Though it goes equally well with food.

German Wine
Germany produces some of the world’s very finest white wines, presenting natural, grapey richness complemented by racy acidity. A really fine example sets off a roller coaster of emotion akin to a skilfully played piece of music.
