71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. Graphite, pencil shavings and deep blackcurrant fruit, with beautifully fine tannins and a charge of earthy, ferrous minerality. Phenomenally good – as classical as it gets and supremely elegant, up there with the best this vintage.

"The second wine of Pichon Lalande, renamed from the 2017 vintage. 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot. Intense, elegant dark berry fruit aromas. The palate is remarkably pure, with immediate, accessible blackberry and inky dark Petit Verdot character. The tannins are firm and fine. Cropped at just 15hlha. 14% of press wine. 13% abv.
